All processed foods can cause inflammation. They can alter the bacteria that live in our gut, that alteration has the ability to interact with our immune systems and eventually trigger it in a way that leads to chronic inflammation.

Foods that cause inflammation in the body are:
-Foods with processed, added sugars such as cookies, cakes, candy, crackers and pastries
-High carbohydrate foods such as breads, pastas and cereals
-Sodas and other sweetened drinks
-Processed meats such as lunch meat, sausage and hot dogs
-Most foods that are in the middle section of your local grocery store

Eating an anti-inflammatory diet lowers the chemical that causes inflammation in the body. Those with arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout and psoriatic arthritis can lower flare ups by eating foods that lower inflammation in the body. Those with fibromyalgia and other health concerns can also benefit from lowering the inflammation in the body.

Foods that can help lower inflammation in the body are:
-Fruits, especially blueberries, blackberries, cranberries and cherries
-Vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables
-Nuts such as almonds and cashews
-Fish such as salmon, tuna and sardines

Try decreasing the amount of inflammatory foods each week, soon you will notice a difference in how you feel!
